On the occasion of the 2022 European edition of the Market Faire in Rome, Quayola will present his new video installation Storms, an immersive work that will be on view in the industrial spaces of the Gazometro Ostiense.
Valentino Catricalà, the curator of “MakerArt” the special section dedicated to the dialogue between the world of innovation and Art, has chosen the Storms‘ installation by Quayola for this year’s edition.
The initiative is promoted and organized by the Rome Chamber of Commerce through its “Azienda Speciale Innova Camera” and is dedicated to creativity and technological innovation.
Quayola’s research moves in the combination of digital, robotics and artificial intelligence and an iconography rooted in art history. The series Storms is part of this cross-section, continuing the artist’s research into traditional landscape painting, where what is explored, through the use of advanced technologies, is not so much the image itself but instead the pictorial substance, understood both as material and as the medium of the ideational origin of the image itself.

In occasione dell’edizione Europea di quest’anno della Market Faire a Roma, Quayola presenterà la sua nuova video installazione Storms, un’opera immersiva che sarà in mostra negli spazi industriali del Gazometro Ostiense.
Valentino Catricalà, il curatore di questa edizione di “MakerArt“, la sezione speciale che unisce il mondo dell’innovazione con quello degli artisti, ha selezionato l’installazione Storms di Quayola.
L’iniziativa è stata promossa e organizzata dalla Camera di Commercio di Roma attraverso la sua “Azienda Speciale Innova Camera” ed è dedicata alla creatività e all’innovazione tecnologica.
La ricerca di Quayola si muove nel connubio fra digitale, robotica e intelligenza artificiale e un’iconografia che affonda le proprie radici nella storia dell’arte. Storms è parte di una serie di opere video che si colloca esattamente in questo spaccato, continuando la ricerca dell’artista sulla pittura di paesaggio tradizionale, dove a essere esplorata, attraverso l’utilizzo di avanzate tecnologie, non è tanto l’immagine in sé quanto invece la sostanza pittorica, intesa sia come materia sia come mezzo dell’origine ideativa dell’immagine
stessa.
