Giulio Malinverni is one of the seven finalists in the Be the difference…with art 2022! competition.
The 2022 edition of the international competition announced by the Rotary Club Asolo and Pedemontana del Grappa, which has been promoting the value and originality of young artists for years, is dedicated to Antonio Canova. 200 years after the death of the great neoclassical sculptor, it will be the Museo Gypsotheca Antonio Canova in Possagno, a treasure chest of his legacy, that will host the finalist works, reknitting the threads between history and the contemporary and showing how much Canova’s lesson continues to be a valuable source of inspiration. In the rooms adorned with Canova’s plaster casts, the creations of twenty artists under 40 will dialogue with the suggestions of an immortal art, in an installation that will take shape starting precisely from the specificities of the selected works.
Giulio Malinverni participates in the competition with the works ‘Diga #1 Diga #2’. In these works, oil paint blends with red onyx, employing the brilliance and brightness typical of this rock in favor of the chosen pictorial subject. Known as Sardonice, red onyx is characterized by some white streaks that form branches over the entire extent of its surface.

Giulio Malinverni è uno dei sette finalisti del concorso Be the difference…with art 2022!
L’edizione 2022 del concorso internazionale bandito dal Rotary Club Asolo e Pedemontana del Grappa che da anni promuove il valore e l’originalità dei giovani artisti, è dedicata ad Antonio Canova. A 200 anni dalla scomparsa del grande scultore neoclassico, sarà il Museo Gypsotheca Antonio Canova di Possagno, scrigno della sua eredità, a ospitare le opere finaliste, riannodando i fili tra la storia e il contemporaneo e mostrando quanto la lezione di Canova continui a essere una preziosa fonte di ispirazione. Nelle sale adorne dei gessi canoviani, le creazioni di venti artisti under 40 dialogheranno con le suggestioni di un’arte immortale, in un allestimento che prenderà forma partendo proprio dalle specificità dei lavori selezionati.
Giulio Malinverni partecipa al concorso con le opere ‘Diga #1 Diga #2’. In questi lavori la pittura ad olio si fonde con l’onice rossa, impiegando la brillantezza e le luminosità tipiche di questa roccia a favore del soggetto pittorico scelto. Conosciuta come Sardonice, l’onice rossa è caratterizzata da alcune striature bianche che formano delle diramazioni sull’intera estensione della sua superficie.
