Artificial Botany by fuse* will be part of Gardening Amelisweerd, the exhibition about humans, nature and tech presented by Creative Coding Utrecht, at and around Landhuis Oud Amelisweerd.
The project, which will involve citizens, digital creators and activists equipped with technology, follows the idea to ‘garden’ and play the game of the elements. It aim to have a playful and curious conversation with nature and investigate the connection between man and nature through technology and spirituality. What does nature mean when we view it from the perspective of technology? What if we don’t put humans first and give rights and voices to non-humans, like a river, robin or tomato? Through art and design, GARDENING makes the changing relationship with nature tangible and makes everyone aware of theirs and others’ role in our ecosystem.

Il progetto, che coinvolgerà cittadini, creatori digitali e attivisti dotati di tecnologia, segue l’idea del “giardino” e del gioco degli elementi. L’obiettivo è quello di avere una conversazione giocosa e curiosa con la natura e di indagare la connessione tra uomo e natura attraverso la tecnologia e la spiritualità. Che cosa significa la natura quando la vediamo dalla prospettiva della tecnologia? E se non mettessimo l’uomo al primo posto e dessimo diritti e voce ai non umani, come un fiume, un pettirosso o un pomodoro? Attraverso l’arte e il design, GARDENING rende tangibile il cambiamento del rapporto con la natura e rende tutti consapevoli del proprio e dell’altrui ruolo nel nostro ecosistema.
