We are pleased to announce that the live media performance Van Gogh in me by fuse* will take place on November 13, 2022, at the Koninklijk Thater Carré in Amsterdam.
The show wants to merge the music, art and history of the late 19th and early 20th century in a novel way, creating a new, synaesthetic experience of the time.
In Van Gogh in Me, Vincent Van Gogh is the central source of inspiration. The idea for this production was derived partly from an upcoming exhibition in the Van Gogh Museum and Belvedere Vienna about Gustav Klimt’s sources of inspiration: Golden Boy Gustav Klimt. In order to connect the artworks to music, creating an immersive journey through the Europe of Van Gogh and Klimt, the Netherlands Chamber Choir has been working for the past three years with the audiovisual studio fuse* from Italy. They analysed Van Gogh’s and Klimt’s painting methods and use of colour, and developed algorithms that bring the brushstrokes to life. During the performance, the choral music and the emotions of the audience and singers are retrieved from biometric data and immediately converted into images. In this way image becomes audible and music visible in an almost synaesthetic experience.

Siamo lieti di annunciare che la live media performance Van Gogh in me dei fuse* avrà luogo il 13 novembre 2022 presso il Koninklijk Thater Carré di Amsterdam.
Lo spettacolo vuole fondere in modo inedito la musica, l’arte e la storia della fine del XIX e dell’inizio del XX secolo, creando una nuova esperienza sinestetica dell’epoca.
In Van Gogh in Me, Vincent Van Gogh è la fonte centrale di ispirazione. L’idea di questa produzione deriva in parte da una mostra in programma al Van Gogh Museum e al Belvedere di Vienna, sulle fonti di ispirazione di Gustav Klimt: Golden Boy Gustav Klimt. Per collegare le opere d’arte alla musica, creando un viaggio immersivo attraverso l’Europa di Van Gogh e di Klimt, il Coro da Camera dei Paesi Bassi ha lavorato negli ultimi tre anni con lo studio audiovisivo dei fuse*. Hanno quindi analizzato i metodi di pittura e l’uso del colore di Van Gogh e Klimt e hanno sviluppato algoritmi che danno vita alle pennellate. Durante la performance, la musica corale e le emozioni del pubblico e dei cantanti vengono recuperate dai dati biometrici e immediatamente convertite in immagini. In questo modo l’immagine diventa udibile e la musica visibile in un’esperienza quasi sinestetica.
